"Every job I take on, I treat it like it's my own home."

How Westlight Windows & Doors Was Born

Westlight Windows & Doors started in 2009, but the story really begins with a homeowner in Los Angeles who had been quoted one price over the phone and handed a different one at the door. The job was a simple window replacement. Nothing exotic. But by the time the estimate was rewritten, the number had climbed enough that the homeowner called us instead, frustrated and ready to walk away from the project entirely. We sat at their kitchen table, looked at the existing windows, and wrote a number on a piece of paper. That number never changed. The job got done, the windows went in, and the homeowner told a neighbor. That neighbor told someone else. And we realized something that still guides us today: people do not need a window company to impress them. They need one that tells the truth.

We named the company Westlight because of what late-afternoon sun does when it comes through a good window. It changes a room. It makes a house feel like a home. That is what we wanted to build toward, one written estimate at a time.

What started as a small operation has grown into a network of independently owned locations serving homeowners across California, Florida, and beyond. The founding commitment has not changed: the price we write down is the price you pay. Every job. Every time.

Owen Satterfield’s Personal Connection to the Windows & Doors Trade

Owen Satterfield did not grow up dreaming about window frames. He found the trade the way a lot of people find the work they are meant to do: by accident, and then by necessity. Early in his working life, he was sent to help on a job where a previous contractor had installed a set of patio doors badly. The doors were crooked. The seals were torn. The homeowner had paid good money and gotten a drafty mess. Owen spent the day taking those doors out and putting them back correctly. He remembers the feel of the shims under his fingers, the weight of the door when it finally sat square in the opening, and the quiet when the last screw went in. The room went still. No rattle. No draft. Just a door that did what it was supposed to do.

That moment stuck with him. Not because it was glamorous, but because it was honest. A window or a door is not a luxury item. It is the thing between a family and the weather. It keeps out the cold, the heat, the noise. It lets in the light. Owen came to understand that doing this work well means giving someone back a little peace in their own home. That is the part he loves most.

He has spent more than a decade in this trade now, and the sensory details still matter to him: the smell of fresh millwork, the sound of a sash sliding smoothly, the way a properly sealed frame feels when you run your hand along it. If he were not running Westlight, he would probably still be working with his hands somewhere, building or fixing something. The satisfaction is in the craft itself.

Meet Owen Satterfield - The Person Behind Every Job

Owen Satterfield is the Owner and Founder of Westlight Windows & Doors. He built this company from the ground up, starting with the simple belief that a homeowner deserves a straight answer and a fair price before any work begins. His background is in hands-on window and door installation, and he has spent years learning what works in real homes: which frames hold up in coastal humidity, which glass performs best under a California sun, which hardware lasts.

What sets Owen apart from a corporate franchise technician is this: he has personally done the work. He has carried the windows up the stairs, cut the flashing, and cleaned up the job site. He knows what a good installation looks like because he has done it himself. Outside of work, Owen is the kind of person who notices the details, whether that is a properly hung door or a well-built piece of furniture. He is a craftsman by nature, and he brings that standard to every project under the Westlight name.

His commitment to customers is direct: if Westlight puts its name on a job, that job is done right, and if something fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it. No fine print, no runaround.

Our Promise to Homeowners

Every Westlight Windows & Doors location works to a set of promises we call The Kingswell Way. They are not slogans printed on a brochure. They are the rules our teams actually operate by.

Say the price before the work. You get a written estimate before any job starts, and that number does not change at the door. No surprises, no add-ons.

Show up in the window we gave. When we schedule a visit, we give you a real arrival window and we keep it. You should not have to burn a vacation day waiting for a contractor who never shows.

Leave the place cleaner than we found it. Installation work creates dust and debris. That is our mess, not yours. We clean it up.

Put the guarantee in writing. Every job is covered by The Kingswell Guarantee. If a repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge.

Our Credentials

Every professional working under the Westlight Windows & Doors name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. That is not a marketing claim. It is a condition of operating under this brand.

  • State-licensed: Each location carries the licensing required in its state.
  • Insured and bonded: Homeowners are protected when a licensed, insured, and bonded pro works on their property.
  • Network-held standards: Every location is independently owned and operated, but all agree to work to the same four promises: a written price before any work starts, a real arrival window, a clean job site, and a written guarantee on the work.

Why does this matter to you? Because the person standing in your doorway is the person responsible for the work. When a company requires proper licensing and insurance from every pro bearing its name, that is a signal the company takes your home seriously. And when the guarantee is written down, you have something real to hold onto if a problem ever comes up.

Rooted in the Communities We Serve

Westlight Windows & Doors does not pretend to be from every town. The company was founded in Los Angeles, and it has grown by partnering with independent local businesses that agreed to work to the Kingswell Guarantee. Each location is rooted in its own community and serves homeowners in its own region, from cities across California to communities in Florida and beyond. When you call Westlight, a live coordinator connects you with the local team that covers your address. You get a local crew that knows the area, working under a national standard that does not bend.

Call (903) 354-7134 and we will connect you with the Westlight Windows & Doors location nearest you. The estimate is free, and the price you are quoted is the price you will pay.
