Franchise Investment Overview

We’re going to do something most franchise pages won’t: put actual dollar ranges on the table. No “contact us for details” gate before you know whether this is even a conversation worth having. A windows and doors franchise is a real business with real startup costs, and you should know the shape of those numbers before you spend an hour on the phone with us. These are ballpark estimates built from what we know about launching a location like ours in a mid-size market. They are not an offering, and the official figures come later in the process. But this page should tell you whether your budget and this business model belong in the same room.

Estimated Startup Investment

Every market is different. A location in a fast-growing suburb will need more working capital than one in a settled town with steady replacement demand. That said, here’s the range we’ve seen hold up across a typical windows and doors operation. These are planning numbers, not promises.

Investment Category Estimated Range
Franchise Fee $45,000 - $65,000
Equipment & Vehicles $35,000 - $70,000
Initial Marketing & Launch $15,000 - $30,000
Working Capital (first 6 months) $60,000 - $100,000
Total Estimated Investment $155,000 - $265,000

A few notes so those numbers aren’t abstract. Equipment and vehicles covers a work van, ladders, scaffolding, installation tools, and safety gear. Marketing covers your first few months of local advertising so the phone rings before word of mouth kicks in. Working capital is the money that keeps payroll and overhead covered while your revenue ramps. We’d rather you over-plan that number than under-plan it.

What’s Included

The franchise fee isn’t a door charge. It buys you the systems, the training, and the name recognition that would take years to build from scratch. Here’s what’s included:

  • Brand license and territory - the right to operate as Westlight Windows & Doors in a defined area, with the brand’s tagline and reputation behind you.
  • Initial training program - classroom and field training covering installation standards, product knowledge across our eight manufacturer lines, and how to price jobs the Kingswell way.
  • Launch marketing package - a coordinated rollout to introduce your location, built around the promises that set Westlight apart: written prices, real arrival windows, clean job sites, written guarantees.
  • Operations and estimating systems - the tools to give a customer a written price before any work starts and the processes to keep every job running on the schedule you committed to.
  • Ongoing support and training - continued access to the brand’s systems, product updates, and operational guidance.
  • The Kingswell Guarantee framework - the four-promise structure every Westlight location works under, including the 365-Day Done Right Promise and the Free Second Visit policy.

What the fee does not buy you is a shortcut around the work. This is a hands-on business. You’ll be selling, managing installations, and answering for the quality of every job that carries the Westlight name.

Financing & Next Steps

Most franchise owners don’t write one check for the whole investment. Third-party financing is common for equipment, vehicles, and sometimes a portion of the franchise fee. SBA-backed loans have been used to fund windows and doors franchises before, and there are lenders who understand franchise startups specifically. Some owners bring an equity partner. Others use retirement funds through a qualified plan. We’re not lenders and we don’t take a fee for pointing you toward financing resources, but we can tell you what’s worked for owners in the Kingswell network and what questions to ask any lender you talk to.

The process from here is straightforward. Start with a conversation. We’ll talk about your background, the market you’re considering, and whether this is the right fit on both sides. If it is, you’ll receive the official documents with the actual, binding numbers - the kind that get filed with regulators and reviewed by your attorney. You’ll have time to review them. You should have time. Any franchise that rushes you through the paperwork isn’t one you want to sign with.

One thing we can tell you right now: the phone number on this page is answered by a real person. Not a call center, not a chatbot. Call (903) 354-7134 and you’ll talk to someone who can walk you through the basics and schedule a deeper conversation. Or use the form at the bottom of this page to request the information kit.
