Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to know the difference between a casement window and a double-hung before you join Westlight. You need to know how to run a business, or want to learn. We’ll teach you the windows and doors part. Our training exists because most franchise owners come to us from other industries, and a good number of them have never held a PGT impact window or installed a Therma-Tru entry door in their life. That’s not a problem. It’s the starting point we designed for. The Kingswell network has spent years figuring out what a new owner actually needs to know, then building a program around it. Owen Satterfield, our owner, will tell you the same thing he tells every new operator: “Learn the promises first. The products come after.”
Initial Training
Before you ever take a job in your territory, you go through structured onboarding that covers the four areas that actually determine whether a windows and doors business makes money: operations, the trade, the software, and the front office. Operations training walks you through how to quote a job so the written price is right the first time, how to schedule install crews around real arrival windows, and how to handle a repair callback without losing your margin or your mind. The trade side teaches you the product lines: impact-rated PGT and CGI for coastal and storm-prone markets, ECO Window Systems for energy-conscious buyers, CWS and ES Windows, Mr-Glass, ViewLux, and Therma-Tru entry doors. You’ll learn what each line is good at, where it’s overpriced for the application, and how to match the right product to the right house instead of forcing one brand onto every job. Software training covers our quoting, scheduling, and customer management tools. Hiring and marketing training comes next, because you can’t install a window if you can’t find a crew and you can’t pay a crew if no one is calling. The whole initial program is built for someone with zero fenestration background. If you’ve never heard the word “fenestration,” that sentence was for you.
The Kingswell Way runs through all of it. You’ll learn the five values by name: Say the price before the work. Show up in the window we gave. Leave the place cleaner than we found it. Put the guarantee in writing. Come back if it fails. Those aren’t slogans on a poster. They’re the operating rules for every job, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise is what happens when the fifth rule gets tested.
Launch Support
Opening day is where most new businesses quietly fall apart. We don’t let that happen quietly. Launch support starts before your doors open and continues through your first installs. Kingswell helps you set up your local marketing presence properly: your service-area pages, your Google Business Profile, your phone line with live human coverage 24/7. That phone line matters more than most new owners expect. When a homeowner calls at 9:42pm because a window cracked during a storm, a real person answers. Not a voicemail. That’s a lead other companies lose and you keep.
We also coach you through your first jobs, because the first install is where pricing mistakes, scheduling mistakes, and crew problems all show up at once. You’ll have a Kingswell support contact who has already watched dozens of launches. When your first quote is too low because you forgot to account for stucco repair around the frame, someone tells you before it becomes a habit. When your first picky customer asks for a price revision at the door, you’ll know the answer: no. The written price holds. That’s the guarantee working for you.
Lead generation is part of launch support too. We help you understand which neighborhoods in your territory are more likely to need window replacement, how to talk to homeowners who have been burned by no-show contractors, and how to convert a free estimate into a signed job without pressure tactics. You’re not shelling out for a national ad buy and hoping. You’re getting a playbook that has been refined across the Kingswell network.
Ongoing Support
Training doesn’t stop after your first install. Ongoing support includes:
- Field coaching and business reviews – regular check-ins on your numbers, your job pipeline, and any operational problems before they become expensive ones.
- Marketing support and local campaigns – continued help with your local presence, seasonal promotions, and keeping your lead flow steady through the slow months.
- Vendor relationships and product pricing – negotiated pricing across our eight manufacturer lines, so you’re not calling PGT or Therma-Tru as a one-off buyer.
- Technology updates and software training – when the scheduling or quoting platform changes, you get refreshed training, not an email with a link and a good luck.
- National brand campaigns – Kingswell-level awareness that makes your local sales conversations easier because homeowners already recognize the guarantee.
- Guarantee and callback support – if a repair fails inside the 365-day window, you’re not eating the cost alone in confusion. We help you handle it correctly, and the customer gets it fixed at no charge.
You’re Never Alone
Owning a windows and doors business means making decisions. It doesn’t mean making them without backup. Call (903) 354-7134 or request info below and we’ll walk you through what training actually looks like, week by week.
